Paris

I really didn't like Paris, it felt like an older, more confusing version of New York City. Paris was dirty, loud and unfriendly, that being said here are a few of the things that I did enjoy in Paris: The Eiffel Tower (which I didn't go to the top of...if you saw the line you would understand), The Louvre (seeing the Mona Lisa and the Venus di Milo was really amazing), and the pastries....that's pretty much it. I know that some people LOVE Paris and I think that had I been with other people I might have liked it but I just didn't get it. I enjoyed the history of the city, the older buildings were very pretty, but to me most of the city felt fake. Almost all of the places I went (granted most of them were tourist attractions) felt like they had a times square vibe, vendors taking advantage of tourists, signs drawing you into the area, it just didn't have any authentic charm. I don't think that I will ever go back to Paris, there are just so many places in Europe that I would rather visit.

Wow! I am really surprised. I wish you had enjoyed it more...but you have so much ahead of you, and I know you will ADORE Italy!

Oh, and I love the pastries in Paris, too -- especially pain au chocolat.

I'm sorry Paris sucked for you. There's really some neat places there, but it would definitely be better to be there with someone who spoke the language next time... (hint, hint). Oh well, glad you're having more fun in London :)
