Note to self:

When in Passport Control and you don't think you heard the Agent correctly, just keep your mouth shut...because what he actually said was "Ya, no problem", not "You're a problem".

"What!? I'm a problem?! Why!?"  (Blank stares...)

Bruges, Belgium

After a very disappointing Brussels, I was happy today to hop a train to Bruges and thank you Jesus, I LOVE IT!!! It has the feeling I've been looking for in Belgium. It's old, full of wonderful history, and beautiful! I nearly kissed all the people in the streets as I was walking out of sheer excitement...though, I didn't as I'm not that much of a freak show and I terrified of Ebola. Bruges...It's so great.

Brussels, Belgium

I'm really behind in blogging! On the 14th, I took the Chunnel to Brussels and...I hate Brussels. Ok, hate is a strong word, but I really didn't like it. If the crap parts of Chicago and Paris had an ugly baby...that would be Brussels. There were a few beautiful buildings, a few nice neighborhoods (and a few not so nice neighborhoods, including the sex district I stumbled upon), but for the most part, I was happy to leave.

Cliffs of Moher Part II

Yesterday was amazing, and crazy! In an effort to miss some of the rain and bus loads of tourist, we began our 10k hike up the Cliffs of Moher first thing in the morning. The route was messy, and at times a bit scary, but the scenery was stunning and worth every bit of effort. I was so impressed that I didn't even mind when I ate it straight into a pile of...mud, I hope...
Anyway, ass covered in...whatever, we made it up the path in about an hour, stopped for a little picnic, and to take some photos, and were rewarded for our effort with a stunning rainbow. I actually said "Ok, Ireland, that's enough, now you're just showing off with your rainbows and magical horses". The beauty was to the point of ridiculousness.
We were able to make it back down the cliffside before the weather turned nasty, thank God, because I can see how people die there all the time. In fact, this sign greeted us before we began the climb...
Anywho, I'm now back in London, having a bit of R&R before I head to Belgium on the 14th. Monday, I'll head back to Highgate Cemetery, which is my favorite spot in London. It may sound creepy, but if you've been there, you understand. I will always make a point to visit, every single time I'm here!

Cliffs of Moher....OH. MY. GOD.

After leaving Kylemore Abbey, we headed south along the coast to The Cliffs of Moher...they were so amazing that we are going back tomorrow.

Stay tuned, Cliffs of Moher Part II tomorrow!

Kylemore Abbey

Holy crap, amazing day. I'm breaking today into two posts because I took 9 million photos. We left Clifden this morning and drove north to Kylemore Abbey, which is still an active religious institution. The beauty surrounding that area was breathtaking...I can't even describe it, so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...
