My trip is coming to an end!!

I'm almost done! I will be very sad to leave and not see new things everyday, however, I am so excited to go home and see my family and friends (and Guinness who I miss a lot!!)!

My last night in Oxford was great! Ruth (the woman from Uganda/London/Spain) and I went out to a nice Latin restaurant just up the street from our hostel. I had a burger, of course, but it was made with Brazilian beef and paprika mayo...so good. We talked about her family and mine, growing up in Europe vs The United States, and just life in general. I really enjoyed it! After dinner, we walked back to the hostel and our hostel mates were already asleep so we both read for awhile and then went to sleep. In the morning, I woke to Justine (Nigeria) and Becca (Jamaica) arguing over whether or not you needed to pray before you got out of bed or if it was OK to pray later...Justine is very religious and very blunt, the first night she met Ruth she told her she must be using to much cream on her face because it looks greasy.

I checked out at 10am and left my bags in the luggage room. I walked over to Christ Church College and was very disappointed to see that the college was closed for a conference until 3pm...my train left at 3pm...so I will just have to come back so day and see the inside!!! Stupid conference!

I took the train back to London, which I really enjoyed, the train is so calm and the countryside was just beautiful! When I got back to London, I made the half-mile way to my new hostel (Astor Hyde Park) and was pleased to see it is in a great neighborhood. Hyde Park is known for being kinda swanky and the houses and cars parked around here prove that to be true. On another note, the Iraqi embassy is located directly across the street from my hostel....

My roommates in this hostel have all been boys, I'm beginning to wonder if they put me in a boys room by mistake...I'll ask. Anyway, the one roommate who has been here as long as I have loves to fart loudly in the morning while he thinks I am sleeping, and likes to wipe boogers on the bed above him while he thinks I am busy reading...he is vile. But my bed is across the room from his so I am out of range for the farts and I am safe from the boogers.

Yesterday, I had coffee with a friend of a friend named Maggie who was wonderful! She is living in London for school and had a friend with her who was visiting from the States. We sat and talked about London and Europe in general, it was really nice to talk with someone from the States who also happens to be from Colorado!!

Last night I went over to Michele's house...if you remember, Michele is the lovely girl I met in Edinburgh who lives in London with her boyfriend Chris. It was so fun!!! They made a delicious South Africa chicken with peppers and mushrooms and we drank Strongbow and they taught me London slang...which I have forgotten already...I blame it on the Strongbow. They promised to come to Denver and I to Australia (where they are from and they are moving back in like 6 months) before we said our goodbyes and I hopped back on the bus. It was really a great night...then I returned to booger farts and went to sleep.
